Mr. Luisi plans to be a full time surrogate, which is in contrast to many public officials not treating their
positions as a primary job. He plans to provide free will service. He wants to add additional offices in the county.
party messaging
Luisi wants to provide in person meetings again, and expand the Surrogate’s Office to accommodate the different schedules of
residents. Skip understands what families are experiencing during an emotional and often difficult time from the loss of
a loved one. He knows that the Surrogate’s office also offers other professional services for adoptions and understands
that too many residents need guidance navigating through governmental regulations.

experience
***Luisi volunteered at a Republican breakfast event in Mauricetown that his opponents public statements regarding
'experience matters' is not such a big deal since it is very common for funeral directors to assume the role
of surrogate.
In addition to being the owner and manager of the Demarco-Luisi Funeral Home in Vineland for 35 years,
Skip has been a licensed funeral director for 50 years. He was involved in the West Jersey Funeral
Director Association, his local and civic memberships include being the Founder and Past President of
the Italian American Benevolent Association, a member of the American Legion Post 0270, he is the past
member of the Vineland Housing Authority and was a member on the Vineland Zoning Board. Lifelong resident of

experience
When asked at the Candidates Forum about what makes him the most qualified for his position, Luisi spoke about his
lifelong career in the funeral business, which not only gives him experience related to surrogate work, but it has
taught him how to be compassionate and professional while dealing with citizens going through complicated legal work
while they are in mourning.
When asked how he would improve accessibility to the probate process, Luisi spoke about opening the door to surrogates
office as the office is currently closed very often and people needing surrogate services are led to complete their
forms by themselves, then told to leave their forms in a drop-box outside the office. He has also heard stories about
people waiting for months for their paperwork to clear due to the lack of efficient service .
He wants to open the office to encourage more in-person service, open more offices for better accessibility, and also
offer going to people's homes to help them with their surrogate needs. He also expressed a concern that most people in
the county don't even know what the surrogate does, so he hopes to inform the public about the office and its role in
the community.
